Launched in 1968, Longines' Ultra-Chron diver was the very first dive watch equipped with a high-frequency movement, inspiring the new Ultra-Chron with its aesthetic codes, professional diving capabilities, and legacy as a pioneer in high-frequency technology. This Longines Ultra-Chron Box Edition features a 43 mm (Lug-to-lug 49 mm) stainless steel cushion case that holds a textured black dial under a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. It also has luminescent silver-tone (hour) and red (minute) hands with applied and painted indices as hour markers. Complementing this ultra-chronometer are distinctive silver-tone winged and Ultra-Chron emblems, a uni-directional rotating dive bezel on a black sapphire top ring, luminous bezel markers, and a screw-down crown. It is fitted with a brown leather strap and secured by a stainless steel signed buckle. This Box Edition also includes an interchangeable black/red nylon NATO strap made of recycled material, a strap-changing tool, and is packaged in a special wooden presentation box. The solid caseback is decorated with Longines' Ultra-Chron logo, encasing the in-house high-frequency caliber L836, a Timelab-certified Swiss automatic chronometer movement beating at 36,000 vibrations per hour generating up to 52 hours of power reserve and is water-resistant up to 300 meters/1000 feet.
